Black Jack
Goal
The goal of blackjack is to obtain a hand of 21 points or a higher hand than the bank by getting as close as possible to 21 without exceeding it.
How to play
- First select the amount you wish to bet.
Define the amount of your chips either in “Change chip value” in the menu or by pressing the keys 2/8 or with the UP/DOWN arrows of your navigation keys. You can place your bets in the three fields labeled with ‘bet” (boxes). To do this, move the cursor using the LEFT/RIGHT arrows or the keys 4 and 6. If you wish to delete all your bets, either choose “Delete all chips” in the menu or press the * key. If you wish to reduce the bet by the value of the chip, press the key 0.
- Once you have placed all bets correctly, press “Start”.
- According to your bets, the cards will be dealt in each box where you have placed a bet. The dealer also receives two cards. The dealer’s first card is then uncovered. If the card is an ace, you will automatically be offered “insurance” to protect yourself against blackjack by the dealer.
- Once you have received both cards in each box, you have the following playing options:
- Take a card (Hit) – You receive another card.
- Stand – You do not want to be dealt any more cards.
- Double – You are sure to win because of a new card and you double your bet.
- Split – If you receive two cards of equal value, you may “split” your cards. In this case, you bet the same amount on the second, split hand as you bet on the original hand. For each hand, you receive as many cards as you like with one exception: if you split two aces, you are entitled to only one more card for each ace. Please note that your hand can be split only once, i.e., if your third card is identical to the first two, you are not allowed to form a third hand with it.
- The game for each box ends once you have a blackjack, decide to “stand”, or have exceeded 21.
- At the end, the dealer keeps dealing himself a card until he reaches at least 16 points. If he hits 17 or higher, he cannot draw any more cards.
- Once the dealer has received all his cards, the value of the dealer’s hand is compared with the ones in the boxes. If you have a blackjack or the value of your hand is closer or equal to 21, you win. The amount of the winnings is displayed at the top right of the screen.

Additional Menu Settings
If you make a decision that is potentially illogical in any given situation, one of the following warnings will appear:
- Hit warning: If you have already reached 17 points, the probability is very high that you will go over 21.
- Stand warning: If you do not want to receive any more cards even though you have a low hand (less than 12 points), your chance of winning is very small.
- Double warning: If you have gone over 12, there is a high probability that the next card would make you go over 21 and make you lose the double bet.
Under "settings", you can choose whether or not you wish to have such warnings displayed. Moreover, you have the option of defining a standard bet and setting the zoom mode. The zoom mode enlarges the view of the relevant box. Not all three boxes are displayed but only the current one. |
Glossary entries for this article: Hit To land on your opponent's blot. When you hit a blot, that checker is sent to the bar. Points There are 24 points on the board where you can move your checkers. Also used for scoring. For example, each game is initially worth one point but you can score more points if someone has doubled or if you score a gammon or a backgammon. SettingsIn

"Standard stake" – here you may define a standard stake for all your Bets. Naturally you can change the standard stake at any time by simply entering a new stake when betting, or by changing the standard stake under "Settings".
"Odds display" – this option allows you to display the odds either in European/Decimal, American or British format.
Odds Total In "Total" betting, the bet is placed not on the result of an event but rather on the total number of points obtained in the event. Example: The visiting team are the New York Jets (OVER 55), the home team the Buffalo Bills (UNDER 55). Both are priced at 1.91. If you think that more than 55 points (OVER 55) will be scored in this event (by both teams together) - then you will choose bet 1 (because OVER 55 is written next to it). If you think that less than 55 points will be scored in this match (once again by both teams together) - i.e. UNDER 55 - then you will choose bet 2.
