PayPal restrictions in Austria
As of 28th September 2020, users from Austria will be able to use their PayPal funds only for Sports betting. Playing Casino and Poker will still be possible with deposits from all other payment methods such as VISA, Mastercard, Paysafecard etc. This was an internal decision by the PayPal Group and does not affect any other payment provider.

1. Why can’t I use PayPal funds for Casino or Poker?
PayPal deposits from 28th September 2020 onwards can only be used in Sports for placing bets as PayPal no longer supports transactions pertaining to Online Casino or Poker. This only applies to users who are residents of Austria.
2. Why are there two balances in my account?
PayPal have asked that their deposits are kept separate from those of other payment providers and that PayPal funds can only be used for Sports betting. Winnings from PayPal bets will be returned to the “Sports Only Balance” and this balance can be withdrawn through PayPal only. The “All Products Balance” contains funds from all sources except PayPal and it can be wagered in Sports, Casino and Poker.
3. Why is my balance split into “All Products Balance” and “Sports Only Balance”?
Deposits made with any other payment method than PayPal will be combined under “All Products Balance” and will be available in all products (Sports, Casino and Poker). PayPal deposits will be displayed as “Sports Only Balance” and will be available for Sports Betting only.
4. Can I bet on Sports with my PayPal deposit?
Yes, PayPal deposits can be used only for sports betting and all winnings from those bets will be credited into your “Sports Only Balance”. The maximum bet stake is as much as you have in your “Sports Only Balance”.
5. Which deposit methods can I use for sports betting?
All payment methods including PayPal can be used for sports betting.
6. What happens to PayPal deposits from before 28th September 2020?
PayPal deposits made before 28th September 2020 will stay in the “All Products Balance” and these funds will be available for all products (Sports, Casino and Poker). You can withdraw this money through any payment method except PayPal - we recommend Trustly Instant Bank Transfer.
7. Can I transfer funds from the “Sports Only Balance” to the “All Products Balance”?
As required by PayPal, funds from the "Sports Only Balance" may not be transferred to the "All Products Balance" and vice versa.
8. Where can I view my “Sports Only Balance”?
A clear balance split will be displayed in your account. You can see the available “Sports Only Balance” in your account from the:
- My Balance page after you log in.
- Balance selection menu in the top left corner of the bet slip. In this view, "Sports Only Balance" contains your PayPal deposits, sports bonuses that were claimed with PayPal deposits and any winnings you've made from those deposits and bonuses. "All Products Balance" contains all your deposits from sources other than PayPal, sports bonuses that were claimed with any other method than PayPal, winnings from those deposits and bonuses as well as any non-deposit sports betting bonuses.
9. What's the “Sports Only Balance” displayed in my balance details?
This balance contains your PayPal deposits as of 28th September 2020 as well as any sports betting winnings that you have made from those deposits.
10. What happens if I win a sports bet that was placed with funds from the “Sports Only Balance”?
The winnings received from sports bets placed using the “Sports Only Balance” will remain in the “Sports Only Balance” and can only be used for Sports bets or withdrawals via PayPal.
11. I deposited with PayPal and a bonus code but the bonus was not awarded. Why?
We no longer offer any Casino or Poker bonuses for PayPal deposits because PayPal doesn’t support those products any more.
If you've deposited with PayPal for a Casino, Poker or multi-product bonus, the bonus will not be credited because PayPal deposits can only be used to claim Sports bonuses. Please choose a different, valid payment method to claim non-Sports bonuses. In general, these will only be awarded if you've deposited with one of the payment methods marked with a yellow "BONUS" ribbon.
12. How will this change affect my withdrawals?
Funds from the “Sports Only Balance” can only be withdrawn to your PayPal account if you deposited with PayPal.
Any PayPal deposits made before the 28th September 2020 will be in the “All Products Balance” and therefore they can only be withdrawn via Bank Transfer (3 days) or Trustly Instant Bank Transfer (3-6 hours).
13. Can I transfer my “Sports Only Balance” to Casino or Poker?
Unfortunately, this is no longer possible for any gambling providers in Austria. If you'd like to play Casino or Poker you need to deposit with another payment method. We support many different options including SOFORT, VISA, Mastercard, Trustly Instant Bank Transfer and Paysafecard.
14. Which deposit methods can I use to play Casino and Poker?
Take advantage of one of the following other deposit methods to continue playing Casino or Poker, e.g.:
- Skrill
- SOFORT
- VISA
- Mastercard
- Trustly
- Giropay
- Paysafecard
15. I've deposited with PayPal as well as with other methods. Which amount is available for Sports and which for Casino and Poker?
PayPal deposits can only be used for sports betting. If you have a total balance of €150 which includes a PayPal deposit of €50 and €100 deposited with any payment method except PayPal:
- You can wager €150 in Sports.
- You can wager €50 from your "Sports Only Balance" in Sports only.
- You can wager €100 from your "All Products Balance" in Sports, Casino and Poker.
16. Why don't I see my total balance when playing Casino and Poker?
We do not display your "Sports Only Balance" in Casino and Poker since you cannot wager it there anyway. Therefore, you will only see your “All Products Balance”, i.e. your non-PayPal deposits and Casino/Poker bonuses. Check the bonus details for more information on the exact deposit and bonus amounts.
17. Can I combine my "Sports Only Balance" and "All Products Balance" in the same bet slip?
No. The bet slip accepts wagers from either your "Sports Only Balance" or your "All Products Balance". If you'd like to place a sports bet with a stake higher than any of the balances, you will unfortunately for the time being need to place two separate bets.
