Sumo Rules

Aside from the following special betting rules, the common betting rules apply. The special rules will take precedence over the common rules nevertheless.

1.) Match Winner: Which wrestler will be declared the winner by the chief judge/referee at the end of the bout.

2.) Bout Betting: Bets will be settled on the final decision that is announced at the end of the bout. On occasions where the Gyoji (Ring Judge) decision is overruled by the Shimpan (Ring Side Judges) as a result of a mono-il (review), the announcement of the head Shimpan will be used for settling purposes.

In the event that the match is ordered to be restarted, bets will be settled on the bout where an official result is declared. If a bout is decided by kinjite (illegal technique) or mawashi (belt undone), the market will be settled on the official winner declared by the judges.

3.) Postponed Bout: For any cancelled or postponed bout, any bets struck prior to the scheduled start time will be void. All bets stand on any bout that is delayed prior to the scheduled start time and takes place on the same day (local time). The only exceptions are bouts that take place within a fixed date tournament framework eg Olympics, World Championships etc
